LIFE ORIENTATION PROGRAM. RAISING GREAT CITIZENS

Target: Local Primary Schools pupils starting in Class 4, 5 and 6

Haradari Village offers a well stocked library, with books that are age specific and relevant. It is mostly leisure reading. Being removed from familiar settings in the school or the home, the arboretum within Haradari Farm offers a serene and conducive environment to be able to explore the world through reading.

Experiential programs at the farm offer to develop the following skills:
  • Promote communication
  • completing tasks / projects successfully
  • the value of participation
  • making good decisions
  • affirmation of others
  • respect for others and
  • respect for diversity (e.g gender, ability)

    • To encourage a reading for leisure interest without academic pressure;
    • To cultivate a story – telling culture;
    • To teach life skills such as Self esteem, Respect and Honour;
    • To extend personal potential to respond effectively to challenges in the world;
    • To help usersto make informed decisions about further study and career choices;
    • To assist pupils to make informed decisions regarding personal, community and environmental health.
    • To promote Bible literacy and guide them to make personal decisions in their Christian faith.

STANDARDS

– Improvement in Listening skills, Reading skills, Comprehension skills, Concentration and Memory skills, Assignment and essay construction and Making comparisons.
– Critical, creative and problem
